We at Veterinary Internal Medicine are committed to providing excellent care to both our clients and our patients. We feel strongly that patient care can be maximized by working as a team with your referring doctor and other specialists within our network.
Within our facility we have board certified specialists in surgery (Veterinary Orthopedic and Surgery Service), ophthalmology (Animal Eye Care), and dermatology (Veterinary Dermatology), giving us the ability to provide a wide range of patient care.
We also work in conjunction with Ohlone Veterinary Emergency Clinic. This allows referring veterinarians to transfer critical cases directly to VIMS without moving the patient. Our staff of specialists work together as a team to provide patients with the best care possible through our specialty services and 24-hour critical care hospital.
Patients requiring intensive/critical care services in addition to internal medicine care can be treated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in our facility. Intensive monitoring, advanced diagnostics and specialized treatment are among the services we provide for our patients.
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure used to assess the internal structure of various anatomical locations. VIMS performs only non surgical endoscopic procedures in which flexible tube with a camera is inserted. Photographs, biopsies and /or foreign body removal are then easily facilitated. Endoscopic services provided include gastroscopy, colonosopy, cystoscopy, vaginoscopy, and urethroscopy, rhinoscopy and bronchoscopy.
Ultrasonograpy is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that allows Dr. Hamilton to visualize internal organs and scan them for possible pathology or abnormalities. Dr. Hamilton specializes in abdominal ultrasound, and works closely with a cardiac specialist to assess patients with cardiomyopathy or other cardiac abnormalities.
Our facility utilizes advanced digital radiography to provide our doctors with the fastest x-ray imaging possible. Because of the ease of digital processing, stress to our patients is minimized.
VIMS offers cancer diagnostics and individual treatment plans. Chemotherapy and follow up care based on each patient's unique needs.
We offer pre-breeding assessments and screening for dogs. Semen collection for Artificial Insemination is available as in office procedures with follow up ultrasound and/or radiology post conception.
